On 3 October the Funky Monkey has their much anticipated launch. Just for that day visitors will only pay R20 for the day. There will be slides, obstacle courses, soccer & pony rides. Bring the kids and enjoy a lovely day. And don’t forget the Gift Store.

Yesterday Justin Wilmot telephoned the Project Manager for the bridge and he said that both lanes of the bridge will be open from 15 December 2008 to 7 January 2009.
Update: Both lanes should be open from 19 December to 7 January.

OK, the town in question is not Boesmans – but rather nearby Port Alfred. This past weekend a couple of us Bushmanites paid a visit to the ‘big city’ next door to take in the action.

Today when our coffee shop was reasonably full a Water Board employee informed us that the water will be going off in a couple off “in minutes”. This was to accommodate the new extension in Boesmans. I don’t have a problem whatsoever with this, but I find the short notice unacceptable. Especially considering that the Water Board knew about this for several days beforehand.

Die Kenton/Boesmans sakekamer het onlangs R10,000 opsy gesit om die Kariega voetpadjie te herstel. Dis myns insiens ‘n uitstekende idiee, maar ek wonder maar net of ons by Boesmans nie ook ons paadjie langs die rivier kan herstel nie. Miskien kan ons fondse insamel om dit te doen. Ons by Red Apple is in beginsel bereid om R2,000 te skenk vir die saak. Is daar enigiemand anders wat belang stel?
